A while back, proboards did an upgrade to all their forums. Somehow, this fiddled with the settings on Subby's own forum, making only two boards avaliable to the public. Of course, I didn't know since I could see them all, being an admin and everything.
I've fixed them now, I think, and they should be viewable to all...I hope. Do let me know if they aren't.

Thanks to an amazing feat of speed, cojolling, and luck, yours truely has managed to push and shove Sublunary's way into the Artist Alley of CNAnime, to take place in late August in Toronto, Canada.
This was an amazing feat cause, well, CN typically sells out by AnimeNorth.

So~ I can say that Sublunary will be at this years CNAnime, somewhere in the vast Artist Alley. We'll try for a few new prints that those who attended AN won't have seen, and we'll probably get another batch of buttons up, for those who didn't get the chance to grab the new set last time.

AN came and went as a relatively successful (if typically stressful) convention.

In other news: Yes it's June, yes work on the comic was told to have stopped. You currently are set for comics until June 20th, I believe. With a minimum of luck you will get to see out the chapter, which may end in early July, since those comics are already drawn. Right now we have TENTATIVELY decided to continue, but we're pretty much taking it a week at a time. We'll keep you posted on changes and progress.

Currently, expect a hopeful change in the quality of comics come mid/late August, as well as what might be a noticable difference in the framing. From now-ish on, the dialogue should run more smoothly.

As of now, no work will be continuing on Sublunary.
I urge people to attend AN and take advantage of the last prints being sold, and the new set of buttons we have out. No prints from Sublunary will be sold in the future.

This comic means more to one part of the team than it does to the other, and because only one member of the team is willing to devote themselves to working on it, it's ending. Updates will continue into June because they are already finished.

Frankly, there is a slight chance this will be continued. Slight. All is not completely lost. However, one person will not be pulling the weight of this project anymore if it does. If the comic does not continue the artist has already mentioned creating a new comic, however it will have only her art, colouring, writing, and characters, and will likely have a sporadic update scheduale. There will be a link here if it does.

As a writer, I want to tell the story. If the comic ends I'll be willing to explain loose ends, and possibly include a summery of the remaining story. Because work on Sublunary related things will stop, I can't garentee a change from comic form to story form.

There's an apparent chat log going around with someone using my name to 'defend' the comic. If this is a fan, I'd kindly ask them to stop, however I suspect it's a troll doing it to further pound our reputation into the ground.

Remember, if you think you may be talking to a fake Reena at any time, ask me to prove my admin powers by posting in here, erasing comments for the tagboard, or whatever. It's very easy to fake someone on the internet, and I hope that while many fans undoubtably know I'm a bitch, they also know that I'm not as much of one as I'm being displayed to be.

I have no problem with having people dislike Sublunary. There is loads we have to work on, and times when things have been said under stress. We are trying to improve, it's a constant effort. Contrary to what I've allegedly said, I do not think we're as good as Yuu Watase, who has countless manga and animated series. If not our art or story, which both are in need of work, we can only be proud of never missing an update in over two years.

People are welcome to have negative opinions on the comic, but I ask the to politely take them off our webspace. They're welcome in emails of course, but not clogging the tagboard where it upsets fans who don't mind the shoddy story and art. Besides, the tagboard messages get pushed off and it's hard to take into account what's said if I or Sarah don't have a chance to read it.

Just as no one can prove it was me saying those things, the only proof I can offer is my ability to discuss things rationally, as anyone who was on the tagboard last night can testify, and my absence from the computer between 5:30am and 1:00pm today.

On a whole, thanks for the criticism. But what it really comes down to is: If you don't like it, don't read it. Don't constantly rag on us for doing something we enjoy. Everything popular has critics, that's just the way it is.

The artist and I are going through some serious trouble right now. This isn't the cause of it, but it's not helping either of us, or either of our tempers. The comic is going on a hiatus until we work things out. Now before everyone starts freaking, these are the terms of the hiatus:

1. We have comics up until June 20th, so there will be no missed updates until then unless we continue it longer.
2. I have comics coloured into August, they need to be backgrounded, so those will be done eventually.
3. We're taking a much-needed break to sort out some personal problems and get ready for the upcoming convention, so we'll be making prints.

Sublunary is not ending, the behind-the-scenes work is just stopping for now. We have every intention of finishing this comic, but with personal problems getting in the way the reality of a two-person team dwindling to a one-person team is becoming too close for us to handle right now. The comic would lose half of its characters, and the schedual would die, and it would be forgotten about. More importantly, no one would ever SEE Oliver's dead lover. We could very easily just pick up where we left off in the work department in the beginning of June and no one would notice.

Ok, to avoid the apparent discussion on reproduction and discrimination that occured with my last post of information, everyone can bloody wait until something goes up on the site before they learn about it. If you have questions, go read the FAQ on the forums, or ask politely. I will answer a polite question rather then a rude one.
When it comes down to it, I don't have to explain anything to anyone. It's called suspension of disbelief. Most webcomic creators hardly converse with their fans on a regular basis, and you don't see manga creators trying to explain why it's possible Sailor Moon can turn into a princess, or why she might weigh 90 pounds, why all anime characters pretty much look American, or why large mechanical robots can perform a somersault with three flips and ALWAYS run out of amunition, even after a ton of battles. I'm only happy to explain, but please ask NICELY, make sure it's not answered in the FAQ on the forums, and don't request something that really wouldn't fit with the story. I love explaining the world, the ideas, and everything, but you're more likely to get a good and informative conversation if you're polite rather then critical. We love the fans, but we don't like to be attacked for reasons like there being a biased ethnicity or no pimples are in the comic.

Now, I'm going to ask for suggestions for prints you people would like to see at upcoming conventions. Of course, this is strictly related to the comic and the characters within. The only Cameo characters we'll allow are the ones Sarah or I own, and that's all explained on the cameo page *waves hand* So, give us suggestions. Some yaoi, some shounen ai, some of just the chars. Who do you want to see? Doing what? Doing who?

Just to get you all thinking, I'm going to give up some information that still needs to make it's way to the site.

_________________________________

There are four basic divisions of humans in the world of Sublunary.

The first are Humans, self explanitory.

The second are Possibles, they carry a gene for a new-type power, but it either chooses to remain dormant, or is recessive entirely. If it is dormant, they HAVE a power, they just haven't been able to use it because it hasn't awoken, and may never awaken, or it is too weak to notice. If it's recessive, they only carry the gene and have no chance of a power. Their children, however, will likely have one. Two humans, however, can produce a new-type without being a carrier.

The third are New-types. They have powers of some sort. Look at the main characters for examples.

The fourth are Genetics. The practice of genetic altering and creation was outlaws a long long time ago. However, like anything illegal, there survived a thriving underground trade. It was much like getting a piercing or tattoo...it gave pointed ears, tails, slitted eyes; basically it was the merging of a stock of preserved DNA structure with that of a human. Though it has been stopped, some traces remain in the offspring of altered parents. Case in point: Cyan's slitted eyes, and his and Daisuke's pointed ears. There is also a division of this type created through the use of cloning and certain founding new-types. This is top secret for now.

I'm going to be working on site content a bit over the summer, since I'll have more free time without school breathing down my neck. Expect the finished character pages up sometime after AN since that's when all the graphics for them should be done. The encyclopedia is next, and then just some reworking of stuff and whatnot.

Oh, and a secret project that may or may not be completed *shrug*

I'm also taking this time to point people to the forums. There's a place for fanart and fanfics there, so not only can you read some wonderful ones, but you can put your own up and expect some comments on it. We adore icons as well, so submissions of those go over nicely.

Not much to say. Con preparations are underway and we're pondering over some new merchandise.
Or...I am. Really, that's what matters. Not quite sure about it though, and so the fans won't be made privy to it until we decide ^_^

AN is still A-Ok as far as I know, so Subby will still be attending. Anyone who will be there is invited ot drop by and (most importantly) buy stuff and say hi ^-^

And now, Reena returns to fighting the good fight with finals.

Ok, confirmed beyond a doubt:

Sublunary will be attending Artist Alley at AnimeNorth '05

We hope to see a bunch of fans there. Be warned: one of the first question will be 'Post on the forums or tagboard?' followed by 'Why not?!' or 'Who be you then?' respectively. ^_^

Yeah yeah, whine whine. Stop fighting on the tagboard, would ya'll?

In other news, we're closer to having a table at AN. Overall, their system is shite, and I hope its gets better next year instead of it getting steadily worse as it has over the past two. If they'd only reply to emails to confirm things, we'd let you know for sure. However, right now we're waiting for the online payment option and have our forms in already.

thisclose, I swear it.

New character showing up soon. Only a brief appearance, not a main char, just a cameo. Heading off the rounds of 'OMG WHOZ DAT' and pointing you all to the cameo page now. ^_^

Subby Update [20 Mar 2005|10:01pm]
This week sees the Sublunary artists in the first of two annual battles for Alley space in the first of two annual conventions, AnimeNorth.

Tables were opened around noon on Saturday, March 19th, and we are registering our spots now. If all goes well, we will officially have a table at the convention, and expect all con-going fans to stop by.

For more information about AnimeNorth 2005, check out their website at www.animenorth.com
Careful though, their web upkeep ain't particularly frequent. Some info might be from last year, but registration and everything is all updated.m I reccomend people in reach of Toronto attend the con. It's the better of the two Sublunary attends. *hisses at Hobbystar and CN coordinators*

Ok, first of all, half of you on the tagboard are right. The other half aren't thinking. I'm not saying which is which, cause I'm sick of spelling it out for half of you guys -.o

The ID will be updated when the Government section is fully introduced, thank you. Sarah needs time to finish the character profile pictures, Reena needs time to finalize the profiles and code it, and Sarah needs time to do the little buttons. Don't forget we're both in school and she's holding a job while I work on essays. We're working on things. Until we start missing updates because of our own laziness (not keen acting up), no one has the right to nag EXCEPT for me. It's part of my job.

And for anyone and everyone complaining about the lack of females: You're reading a yaoi webcomic in which the main cast is male. There are females often in the background throughout the club arc. There will be a strong female character later on. HOWEVER, if you want to read a comic where there are girls, go read one where the main cast isn't full of guys. We are NOT sexist because we choose to write about guys. Does that mean people who don't write plots involving religion are atheists? There's a leap of logic.

Reena is nearing exams and has many essays do. Please do your best to not be silly.

Sublunary oppoerates at a 1024x760 resolution.
If you cannot see the bloue bar on the left with the buttons on it, you are not viewing the entire page.

There, thought that needed to be stated once more. In other news, I know the OSTs aren' working yet. We're trying to figure it out. There's a link on that page and also in the forums from which you can find another site to download them from.

For anyone still wondering: Sarah's commissions are closed. She's working on what she has. If you've ordered one for her, feel free to pester the hell out of her to finish it. I'm on your side ^_^

Comic completion: Chapter 15 is nearly done. Spoiler: It's going to be emotionally charged.

And yes, I'm having fun with formatting ^_^ Join the forums (we like forum goers) and add yourself to the fanlisting and LJ community. Links are in the Extra section, I believe.

Ha! I fixed it (or it fixed itself. Probably the latter). Just gotta say that any time the comic doesn't update, it's the fault of keenspace. I'd give you screenshots of how many comics we've got in the updater, but suffice to say right now I'm framing the comics for the week of May 02, 2005.

In other topics, the reccomended resolution for viewing this page is 1024x7something. The layout was made on a huge resolution, so it just barely works on the one I'm using, which is the one above that I can't remember the second number for, but it's an automatic thing anyway. I say resize your screen! Why? Cause anyone not using that resolution is in the stone-age XD

Update Problems [07 Mar 2005|12:37pm]
Rest assured the comic for today, March 07, is done. It's been done for over a month. We have comics done until early May, I believe. The lack of updating is a keenspace problem. I've manually updated the page and we're 4493rd in line. They are having issues and Sublunary has yet ot miss an update due to the artists not having a comic done.

Summary: Everyone calm the hell down and have some patience, there ain't nothin' we can do.

More updates! The OST's, meaning Sublunary's theme music, are avaliable for download in the Extras section. The character pages have fancy jumplinks added to the top buttons, and will soon have brand new character pictures. And...the cameo page has a new person that might look familiar, firmly squashing theories that he will be a permanent character.

I'm also taking this oppourtunity to point out that yes, we do have forums, despite the common shock I get when people IMing me are told to go sign up on them. "You have a forum?!" is becoming quite bloody annoying -.o So yes, we have forums, and I suggest people go take a look and sign up and post. Why? Cause we like forum-goers, there's fanfic, and fanart, and you'll see it all there long before I get my arse around essays long enough to update it here. Face it, school's a bitch. Fortunatly Sublunary has completed comics up to some time in April. Aren't we good comiccers? ^_^

Wow [21 Feb 2005|10:38pm]
Ok, as you can plainly see, Sublunary is undergoing construction on a new layout, thanks to our mostly-absent forum mod Laura, who is here is spirit most of the time ^_^ Reena has spent much of the night coding and is now seeing in HTML, so if all you kind fans please ignore problems like character profile pics not showing up and messages to the effect of 'insert stuff here' I invite you to take a look around Sublunary's new webspace, and see what pages you'll get to peruse at a later date ^_^
