Comic status
Sorry to be the barer of bad news, but Sublunary is dead. With the artist's permanent withdrawal there's little I can do to keep it going. I have things to deal with over this as well, so no, it's not all about all of your disappointment. I'm not taking a break for 'fun' or 'life' and it's not exactly a break.

The comic will NOT be continued, ever, barring some absolute freak act of nature. I have a few buttons left to figure out uses for, but beyond that *shrug* Nothing. As it stands, I am not up to writing even my own work, letalone this. I hate leaving stories unfinished however, absolutely despise it, so it'll be finished in one way or another sometime. Don't bother me about it. It's ME doing the work, by myself, and it's not fun in the slightest. I swear, and I'm not kidding, one more death threat and the entirty of the comic will come down. I do NOT have to deal with that.

Besides, who ever actually expected it to come to a conclusion? Too much work.

I'll do what I can, when I'm able. Till then...leave me alone. This journal will be updated if there are any changes at all. There won't be for some time, but stick to it if you like.

Thank you very much for all the hard work you've already put into the comic. I'm sorry that other fans are not as appreciative to you, and that they are saying such horrible things (i.e. those horrible threats). They have some very severe problems if they are taking a webcomic so seriously. The lives of the artists and their own personal joy is more important than the comic itself. I'm glad that you're taking a stand by posting things like this and being so firm. While I might miss the story, and am dying to know what happens next, it is not the end of the world to me, and I think it's ridiculous that other fans are treating it like a betrayal.

I hope you enjoy life outside of this comic and don't allow such small-minded thinking of rude fans to effect that time. I look forward to any future work you and the comic artist may present (though I by no means expect it). Thank you for the lovely art and a good story. It was a fun ride. ~_^

If it wasn't obviously stated above, the artist is GONE. WE don't exist anymore, therefor there will not be any work from 'us' in the future. Sorry to disappoint once again, but I don't want you getting the wrong idea.

Thank you for your kind words though.

No worries, I understand that there will be no more artwork or comic of any kind. I was refering to your mention of possibly continuing the story in another fashion, as you mentioned that you don't like to leave stories unfinished. Whether you choose to do so is of course, your own right and I didn't mean to upset you at all. Forgive me.

Not upset, well, no more than usual as of late, just...very tired. I just didn't want you thinking it would continue in comic form, because then there'd be disappointment when it didn't.

But, uh... aren't you two friends (or something)...? Are you not speaking to each other, or did you have a fight, or...? If it's something like that... I'm really sorry. O_o
For the record... I've been a silent reader for a bit (probably a few months if not close to a year?), so I'll just say that I enjoyed the comic a lot... and thanks for all the hard work. Good luck with wherever you go in life! ^_^

I agree with miroku64. Thank you SO much for the comic. I was so happy to find it and I enjoyed every moment of it. It made me laugh and it's always there to go back to. :) I'm sorry that some fan are being SOBs.

There are fanfics. And if you do love the comic...write some! If that is allowed. Is the any RPGs out there? That could make them happy too.

Thanks again! Good luck with life!

No RPs, please. The thought of someone else writing the characters I've known for 7 years doesn't sit well. I can't stop it, but I certainly do NOT support it.

Don't RP my boys and you're perfectly safe ^^;; I warn you though, I'm vicious about my characters. Sarah doesn't mind so much, at least she's told me. You'd have to ask her for the be all end all on her boys.

Cheers!

Fairly new to this comic. ^_^;; My timing sucks. Great run while it lasted. Nice art, great story. So... if not Sublunary, will ya be working on other stuff in the future? If not, too bad; if so, great! Thanks for working on the comic. Wishing best of luck to ya in the future.

First time I've commented on subbyupdates, and I'm not a lot better on the site itself... But, to keep it short and sweet, even if nothing else happens, thank you for the doubtless hundreds of hours you've put into Sublunary, and the equally many hours of enjoyment it has provided all of us. The comic may be dead, but its spirit lives on.

And for the record, anyone offering death-threats can officially be classed a numpty, and dealt with accordingly. I recommend anal rape with a barbed dildo and no lube, but that's my opinion entirely.

From one of your British fans, a big thank you once again, and whatever else happens in your life, may any greater power smile on you for all you've done for us ^_^

I agree with you 100% I came in later than most, but I enjoyed it completely. As a hobby writer myself, I appreciated how story built up and enhanced the visuals. Much of what endeared me was watching the development, seeing the change and growth in both the art and storyline.

I haven't been around daily to read what sounds like have been personal attacks and death-threats but that seems really shallow. True we fans have come to love Subby with a fierce heart, but we also have to appreciate the amount of work it took to do it. Coming in late I can still see how long its been running and quite frankly its the equivalant of a full time job of work that we got for free.

I hope you both be well and let us all know what direction you take it to. If you make it into pure writing, I still want to read it. Nothing wrong with our own imagination... after all we have the initial visuals to assist it.

I want to thank you as well. I have enjoyed the story and the art. They will be missed, but your sanity is much more important.

Live life, and don't sweat the threats, they're just a bunch of asses that don't know when to stfu.

Happiest wishes to you and yours. May your life be filled with health and happiness. . .

Sublunary will always be thought of fondly, dearest Reena. The comic had already discontinued when I first read it so I was not a fan from the beginning sadly, though my respect for the work you and the artist have done is in no way diminished by this.
I say, all around, a standing ovation to both of you. . . and especially you, Reena, for all you have suffered after the closing of the curtain. Cleaning up the mess after the last act, if you want to put it metaphorically.
No one can understand, fully, what you must be going through, but I hope our sincere praise and appriciation of all you have done helps in some small measure. Sublunary has opened doors for me in my own work, an episodal story posted on my LiveJournal. It has given me. . . courage. . . to push boundries and expand my mind to newer, stranger worlds. For this I simply cannot thank you enough, for your inspiration and for the stoic face you have put on through all of this.
Know that whatever you choose to do in the future I shall be your dedicated and appriciative fan forever.
Sublunary has earned a warm niche in my heart and in the back of my mind I will always imagine a happy ending for each and every one of your beautiful characters.
Many fond wishes,
Arquillia

Thank you very much. I think in doing the comic originally I wanted just this, to get a reaction, a permanent place in the mind of its viewers, and knowing I've done that with even just a few makes it seem like less of a...collosal waste of time, as I believe I've put it before.

Thank you so much for your words.

Wow, I cant people some people would actually send death threats. Thats really low. They deserve the worse fate imaginiable. *nods to this* Anyhoo. thank you so much for the awesome comic. I loved it. Though I wish it would continue. It was one of my favorites out of the few I read. Also dont let those jerks with the threats get to you you still have many other fans that still care and arent idiotic morons like those with the death threats. Well good luck where ever you go and remember your TRUE fans are still here and will reread the comic or always come back to check up on it. ^-^

Because it's the artist that is the freak act of nature that I'm talking about. I want to continue this SOMEHOW, but SHE is the artist, she draws the damn thing, SHE decided to drop it. Not me, HER. So her changing her mind after all this would be the freak of nature. Right now I'm going through a hell of a lot more than just the comic ending, and believe me when I say despite it being one of the least of my worries, it's still killing me. I can NOT write it right now. The COMIC will not be continued ever as I can't colour much without lines, and my art isn't up to par. BUT assuming I'm able to get over the huge collossal blackage preventing me from wanting to even touch half of the characters, the STORY will.

My apologies for not making it crystal clear in the original post.

Stop being a bitchy little brat about it, you dick! XP She worked hard and she DOES have a life, you know? Also! It's not her fault as much as you portray it to be! Her artist LEFT. It was on no account her fault, so stop you're whining. It was a great comic and it is on such a high level in my mind that no other comic can ever compare to it but what all the others are say ing is true, the artist as a person should come first. Always.

And to the artist if she reads this, thank you. You're amazing and if you're ever at a convention post it, cause I'd really love to have your autograph or something...anyway, yeah, have fun doing stuff!
Ja ne! ~_^

Thanks for everything Reena, seriously, the comic was really good... But if stuff happens, it happens... People who can't deal with that should go get themselves checked up and should proberly consider getting themselves a brainwash or something, because they're obviously of no worth the way they are... Hurting them a lot would help to... Stupid people.
Lots of luck with everything

Oh wow, that's depressing. So it's dead, huh? *looks at sublunary tombstone* Well, *smiles* it was fun while it lasted. And you guys (both artist and writer) were really dedicated.

I'm amazed that you still want to finish the story. I mean, you sound really stressed over this. But it's not fun to force yourself to do anything. It comes out...I don't have a word for it, but it just feels empty (Well, to me it does).

Honestly, it the comic was great, and I'm glad I found it when I did. Sad to see it go, but life is life, even on the internet (and in comics). It's just something we have to live with. So, Thank You for the hard work and your dedication. ^.^ It's truly appreciated.

Heh. ^_^;; I think that Sublunary had a great run and though it is unfortunate that it must end this way ... everything ends somehow. I just feel very priveledged, as a fan, that you felt you should explain. Because you didn't have to. But you did, and that was extremely kind of you to not leave your fans wondering. ^_^ Sublunary was and is an amazing story and I'm glad I was able to read it. ^_^

My own comic died in much the same way (except in the reversal of who quit.) I can only imagine the turmoil that has gone threw your head the last few months and there much be hundreds, if not thousands of people wishing they could just reach out and hug you, and make it all better.
Whatever you choose to do in the future I shall be your dedicated and appreciative fan forever, because the story you build is something from the heart, and to have such passion into anything is more then anyone can ask of a human being. I believe strongly that your goal of touching other peoples mind and hearts was done with full success, from the first page even <- because really that is what caught me.

I don’t think anyone should be mad at either you or the artist, because of what you have already created took so much time and effort that it would be cruel to think you could go on forever at such a pace. Everything ends, it’s just sad that it’s not finished…and well, people can deal.

Since the tagboard was being rebellious...

I'm sad to see the comic end because it's how I got to meet the both of you, but I understand what you've been going through for the past few months and why it had to happen, whether or not it was what anyone wanted. I appreciate the work and time and pain you put into this for the sake of not just yourselves, but the readers, and I wish you both the best. Thank you, Reena and Sarah both, for everything you've done for the fans, including me, and I'm glad to know you, with or without Sublunary.
